Aside from travel restrictions and schedule conflicts, hundreds of things can keep us away from every event. Obviously, 2020 was no cake walk for anyone trying to travel the country to all the best events, but luckily, our man Victor Lopez was already on the books for Dino’s Git Down and ready to get in front of some trucks. Like in the past, the event was stacked with top quality, national award-winning builds from end to end. With the world-famous SEMA show cancelled in 2020, Dino’s Git Down had the unique opportunity of hosting multiple truck build reveals from some of the best builders in the country—something that brought a whole new level of honor to this event that will never be lost. We didn’t pick an event of the year this year due to the massive impact COVID had on the industry’s show scene, but we felt the need to throw some style points to the team that we felt fought the best battle. The battle to host a large gathering was not a fun one to fight we’re sure, but now it’s only up from here for Dino Battilana and the dedicated crew at the Git Down.Subscribe to our weekly newsletter If you are new to the truck scene, especially the classic Chevy and OBS trucks, you may not know about Dino’s Git Down in Phoenix. This event has very humble beginnings, as it was born in Dino Battilana’s own backyard. Even now in its most successful edition, the Git Down maintains that downhome feel while hosting exponentially more show vehicles and attendance numbers than Dino had ever imagined. This is one of the most buzzed-about classic Chevy truck shows out there by far. “There are two things that will never change about the Git Down,” Dino says. “You’ll never have to pay to get in, and you’ll never have to pay for food. When you’re here, you are our family, and we look at this show as a family reunion with trucks, and we want it to grow every year for all to enjoy.” The world-famous Dino’s Git Down is held in Glendale, Arizona, and brings together more than 1,600 Chevrolet/GMC trucks from all over the U.S. This event originally only accepted Chevy trucks between the years of ’47-’87, but after enough requests from the ’88-’98 GMT400 crowd, Dino and crew decided to open the field to include the Chevy OBS family. This gathering is the elite of elite when it comes to quality and craftsmanship, and it’s strictly Chevy/GMC trucks only. That’s right—no Fords allowed! Head over to the website for all the necessary details on the 2021 Git Down and prepare yourself for one hell of a good time with your classic Chevy truck family. Whether you have a vintage Suburban, a Blazer, an Advance Design, any generation C10 that is lifted or slammed to the ground, come on out and get ready to git on down! This event has very humble beginnings, as it was born in Dino Battilana’s own backyard. Even now in its most successful edition, the Git Down maintains that downhome feel while hosting exponentially more show vehicles and attendance numbers than Dino had ever imagined.
