The Byrds dealt with chaos and drama, but truck owners from all over headed to the Ozarks for a raging show. When Richard Bruner and his Definite Obsession truck club decided to start a custom show 17 years ago, he had no idea the impact it would have on the community. Located at the River Ranch Resort for the 14th straight year, the club has seen Sparks in the Ozarks grow in numbers every year.Subscribe to our weekly newsletter Typically, the Noel, Missouri, population is 1,832. On this recent October weekend, however, the population swelled. More than 1,700 spectators walked through the showgrounds, and 330 vehicle entries were logged at the gate. The three-day event is packed together with music, nighttime partying and, of course, the always-anticipated bikini contest located inside the River Ranch meeting area. For people interested in camping for the whole weekend, they got their choice of more than 50 different pods that could comfortably hold parties of five or more. For others, tents were propped up and fires and campground food were always available. A special guest appearance by Georjah Jaymes surprised everyone, and she took hundreds of pictures with everyone. Vendors included Hammerd, KIK, Gooch Freehand Pinstriping, Totally Low, Lay’n Licks Pinstriping, Lowdown Fabworks, Cold Harted Rod & Kustoms, Lowered Standards, Tuckn’ Clothing, and KC Showdown. Saturday night, the Noel Police Department shut down Main Street just minutes away from the showgrounds for a legal drag session. Proceeds from the show and donations were given to the Noel Fire Department to help with their needs. Richard and his entire club wishes to thank everyone for making the 2022 Sparks in the Ozarks the very best year-to-date.
