While the electric car market has been growing steadily over the past few years, electric pickup trucks have been slow to enter the market. However, with several major automakers announcing plans to release all-electric pickup trucks in 2023 (and even more, such as the RAM Revolution, on the horizon), it’s clear that the electric pickup truck market is finally beginning to heat up, and there will be several great ones to choose from. It has a more traditional design than other EV trucks but still boasts impressive specs. The Lightning produces up to 563 horsepower, can go from 0 to 60 mph in around 4.5 seconds, has a range of up to 300 miles, and can tow up to 10,000 pounds (more than enough for most drivers). It also features a front trunk (or “frunk”) for extra storage. The Lightning starts at $39,974. Tesla Cybertruck The Tesla Cybertruck is arguably the most anticipated electric pickup truck of 2023. With a futuristic, angular design and impressive performance specs, the Cybertruck is sure to turn heads thanks to its sci-fi appearance. It also features a powerful electric motor that can produce up to 800 horsepower, a range of up to 500 miles, can tow up to 14,000 pounds, and can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. The Cybertruck is available in three different models for the limited 2023 model run and starts at $39,900. GMC Hummer EV The GMC Hummer EV is a rugged, off-road-ready electric pickup truck. It has a boxy, aggressive design and some seriously impressive specs. The Hummer EV features up to 1,000 horsepower, can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds, has a range of up to 350 miles, and can tow up to 10,000 pounds. It also features an “Extract Mode” that lifts the vehicle for extra clearance, as well as “Crab Walk” for improved maneuverability. The Hummer EV starts at $79,995. Rivian R1T While the Ford F-150 Lightning, Tesla Cybertruck, and GMC Hummer EV are all getting a lot of attention, they’re not the only electric pickup trucks set to hit the market in 2023. The Rivian R1T is another highly anticipated electric pickup truck that’s sure to turn heads. It has a sleek, modern design and impressive off-road capabilities. The R1T produces up to 750 horsepower, can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds, has a range of up to 400 miles, and can tow up to 11,000 pounds. It also features a unique “gear tunnel” that runs through the center of the vehicle for extra storage (one of our favorite features among current EV trucks). The R1T starts at $67,500. Lordstown Endurance The Lordstown Endurance is probably the least-known EV truck to hit the market this year, but its appeal is that it’s a no-nonsense electric pickup truck with a simple, utilitarian design. With up to 440 horsepower, it’s built for work, with a range of up to 250 miles and a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. The Endurance also features four in-wheel hub motors for extra torque and traction. The Endurance starts at $60,000. Bollinger B2 The Bollinger B2 is a unique electric pickup truck with a minimalist, industrial design that’s sure to appeal to drivers who prioritize ruggedness and durability. It’s built for serious off-roading, with a ground clearance of 15 inches and approach/departure angles of 52 and 43 degrees, respectively. Touting up to 614 horsepower, the B2 can go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, has a range of up to 200 miles, and can tow up to 7,500 pounds. It also features a simple and utilitarian interior that’s designed to be easy to clean and maintain. The B2 starts at $125,000. With these exciting new electric pickups hitting the market in 2023, it’s clear that the future of the pickup truck market is electric. As electric vehicles continue to become more popular, it’s no surprise that automakers are beginning to release all-electric pickup trucks.
