FIRST LOOK – 1948 Chevrolet Crew Cab COE Custom “Decoliner” – BARRETT-JACKSON 2022 SCOTTSDALE

More than 10 years and 10,000 hours of extensive build time have been invested into this multiple-award-winning “rolling piece of art” show truck that pays homage to the golden age of automobile styling. The one-off Decoliner was created with aluminum and composite materials by Dale Gerry Street Rods in Vancouver, British Columbia. The frame is a 23-foot-long highly engineered custom show-condition aluminum tandem axle chassis. It houses a GM crate 502ci Ram Jet fuel-injected V8 engine backed with a Gearstar Performance 4L80E overdrive automatic transmission. A Duramax radiator with electric fans helps keep this big block powerplant cool. The massive engine is supported by a Dale Gerry front cross member with independent suspension, a custom aluminum Ford 9-inch housing and Dutchman axles in the rear. The factory steel GM cab was stretched, and two additional original Chevrolet doors were carefully installed by hand. This custom truck rides on computer-controlled fully adjustable air-ride suspension with Alden shocks. Other exterior features include a 1955 Chevrolet front bumper and American Racing Torq Thrust wheels for the classic look. The new cab features four bucket seats and door panels draped in custom Italian red leather by Lee Baxter’s Hot Rod Interiors and a custom Chrysler Windsor “Astro Dome” dash with Dakota Digital gauges. It is equipped with Vintage Air climate control and has a custom audio system by Andres Car Audio. The rear portion of the body hides a compartment that opens like the cargo bay of the space shuttle and is the perfect place to stash luggage or four bags of golf clubs.
