Without a doubt, Reyna Bros Designs (Milo, Daniel, Chris and Art Reyna) have been on a roll with quite a few builds completed. One of the latest builds is this ’14 Silverado. The idea came up as the new design of Chevrolet’s Silverado started to hit dealer showrooms. Because Milo is a general sales manager at the AutoNation Chevrolet in Austin, Texas, he sees and sells these new trucks on a daily basis.
Milo got hooked on the new body style and knew he had to be one of the first to trick one out. The twist was that he and the brothers would show what they could do with a single cab version. Daniel sketched a rendering of the new truck laid out with big billets and a radical interior. Though the crew cab and extended cab versions of the Silverado were available early, the single cabs were the last to be produced. Milo put in an order to get one of the first.

When the truck arrived, it was 58 days before the SEMA and the brothers were determined to debut it at the show. Meanwhile, they also took on a Chevy Kodiak build as well. To help with the Silverado build, the truck was taken to ‘NFamus Air Suspension for suspension mods, including a stock floor body drop with control arms up front and a wishbone 3-link with pan hard bar in the rear.
Since time was not on their side and the suspension fabrication was going to take awhile, the interior was pulled out so it could be worked on separately. As you can imagine, this was no easy task, because pieces couldn’t be test fit inside the truck while they were working. Sculpt Garage helped out first by fitting the truck with a Polk Audio sound system. Then Milo ordered two 2014 Camaro bucket seats and a center shifter from the dealership where he works. The seats were cut down and modified to fit the cab, and a custom center console was made to house the new shifter. Afterwards, the entire interior was covered in brick-colored leather.

On the outside, mods were kept simple to accentuate the original design. The front bumper was sectioned by ‘NFamus to lay flat on the ground, while the rear bumper was shaved of its steps by Dave Flint of Pristine Paint and Autobody. They were both painted black along with the grille at Pristine. The bed floor was raised by Ray Morrison and covered in Rhino Liner. The ride height is now set with AccuAir leveling components, while the 2,600-pound Air Lift Dominator airbags are filled with air from the Viair Compressors. The air passes through fittings and an aluminum tank supplied by Lowrider Depot.
Finishing the truck is a set of 26×10-nch Raceline Executive wheels with Venezia tires. Not only were these the first set ever made, Daniel even came up with the design himself. With everything put back together, the truck was loaded up behind the freshly finished Kodiak and hauled out to Vegas. The truck definitely broke ground at the SEMA Show, and it created quite a spectacle.

Although the truck was set up to drive correctly, Milo rarely did and only racked up 1,700 miles, and with quite a few other projects on the horizon, he decided to sell the Silverado. Oddly enough, Derek Schaefer of AccuAir fell in love with the truck when he first saw it and was always interested in it. Though Derek drives an AMG-package Mercedes CLS and is working on a C-10 build, he wanted something cool to drive everyday.
Derek told us that if he were to build a Silverado, he would have done it just like Reyna Bros Designs did this one. With a luxurious interior, this truck is definitely not a downgrade from a Benz. Derek pulled the trigger on the purchase and now uses the Silverado to commute and help haul equipment for booths at shows where he promotes AccuAir. It’s not unusual for him to load the bed up and take it on long road trips up and down the West Coast. This truck, now better known as Black Sheep, has become a benchmark for late-model truck builds.
