The truck starting life as a Ford F-250 Super Duty isn’t what makes it super, though. No, this Shelby F-250 Super Baja gets its name from being an outright monster off-road.Subscribe to our weekly newsletter It’s just one more off-road-focused Ford truck in a fresh sea of others. There’s the standard F-150 Raptor, the incoming Raptor R, a Super Duty Tremor and the Shelby Raptor to choose from. That’s the list if we limit our choices to just the Ford factory and Shelby American — Shelby itself is heavily relying on truck sales these days, even more so than the Mustang. The F-250 Super Baja is the truck for somebody who wants Baja desert-running capabilities and Super Duty towing power — hell of a niche. But hey, the 2021 F-150 Raptor can only tow 8,200 pounds. This Super Duty can haul up to 20,000 pounds, which is no less than what it can do from the factory in this configuration. That massive tow rating comes thanks to Ford’s PowerStroke 6.7-liter turbo-diesel V8 engine that produces 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque. The carmaker responded on Wednesday to the Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. in a statement. Jeep replied to Chief Hoskin’s suggestion that the carmaker find a more suitable and less offensive name for its Cherokee SUVs with the following, per the New York Times: Our vehicle names have been carefully chosen and nurtured over the years to honor and celebrate Native American people for their nobility, prowess and pride[.] We are, more than ever, committed to a respectful and open dialogue with Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. Read More Here!! _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Ford’s Inspiration for the F-150 Raptor’s Exhaust Will Blow Your Mind We went “WTF” when we heard it – Nissan GT-R and the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV!! The third-gen F-150 Raptor debuted a few days back and it came with quite a few features that make it an exciting off-road truck. Apart from the 37-inch tires, the truck’s exhaust system has garnered a lot of attention. You would naturally assume that Ford is trying to keep up with the competition and perhaps tore a page out of the Ram TRX’s book, but the inspiration for the exhaust note comes from two completely unrelated products that the Raptor has nothing in common with – The Nissan GT-R and the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV. The first-gen F-150 Raptor came with an option of two big V-8s, including a 6.2-liter engine that could make you go weak in the knees if you heard it rev hard. But, Ford dropped the V-8s for the second-gen and introduced the EcoBoost V-6. The engine didn’t disappoint in terms of performance and came with a big share of pros, but it sounded nothing like its brawny predecessor. Read More Here!!
