Some builds take years. This one took 120 days, and not a single corner was cut. Welcome back to the Storyteller Series, where we spotlight the passion, pressure, and people behind the builds that move the scene. This episode takes us deep into the Rio Grande Valley to meet Color Blind, a 1968 short-wheelbase Chevy C10 built by Cesar Tijerina and his team in just four months for its debut at Dino’s Git Down 2024. Starting with a bare frame, every nut, bolt, weld, and panel was touched under an unforgiving deadline.
The chassis was fully reworked with a QA1 front coilover setup, a custom back half, and a handcrafted 4-link by Kid Metal Worx, with Stone Fab body drop mods to make sure the truck lays body clean. Power comes from a supercharged 5.3L LS topped with a 2.9L Whipple, custom cam, Doug Thorley headers, and a built 4L65E—because this truck isn’t just built to look good, it’s built to run. With the clock ticking, King of Kings Garage laid down a one-off exotic red pearl that absolutely pops in the sun, while Julio’s Upholstery delivered a full Ultra Leather interior in just 23 days.
Raceline El Dorado wheels, Dakota Digital gauges, LG Billet accessories, and final assembly at Three C Garage brought it all together just in time for the big reveal. Color Blind isn’t just a truck, it’s proof that with the right team, relentless hustle, and South Texas grit, greatness can be built under pressure.
