2015 Ford F-150

Ford’s all-new F-150 Platinum Super Crew exemplifies world-class luxury with a sport truck backbone. Ford put the ’15 heavyweight F-150 on a major diet, shedding 700 pounds with an all- new aluminum body and redesigned, lightened frame.

After MAD Industries, located in Costa Mesa, California, accepted delivery of a ’15 Ford F-150 Platinum Super Crew SEMA pickup, it was immediately taken to LGE-CTS Motorsports in San Dimas, California where Theresa Contreras laid out the graphic lines and ace painter Luis sprayed multiple coats of BASF R-M Onyx Waterborne System Pure White basecoat with a BASF Jet Black broad striped hood, roof and tailgate insert. Then Luis buried the basecoat colors with BASF clear. Lightwerks custom headlights were added to match the LED top and bottom shrouds, with tinted clear lenses around the housings, tinted amber reflectors and flat black housings. To light up the night, PIAA Extreme White bulbs and Terra LED Evolution lighting were the answer. A pair of Aero Vogue wiper blades delivers style and function, keeping the windshield clear and clean during wet weather.

To achieve a more aggressive lowered stance, a pair of Crown Suspension 3-inch drop coil springs was installed. The rearend was lowered using a Crown 4-inch flip kit, which includes a pair of leaf springs, brackets and U-bolts with shorter aftermarket performance rear shocks. A Firestone Ride Rite air helper kit was installed in the rear to assist with any heavy payload or towing chores. The factory disc brakes were swapped out with a set of Wilwood TC6 Series forged aluminum calipers and Wilwood brake pads that clamp down on both front and rear two-piece cross-drilled and slotted 16-inch- diameter E-coated rotors. Wilwood stainless braided bake lines protect and reduce volumetric expansion while enhancing the overall brake system’s appearance. A Mag HiTech aluminum rear differential cover was bolted on for increased gear oil capacity and cooling. The Super Crew rolls on a set of Niche Invert T73 three-piece forged aluminum wheels, 24×10 (front) 14×10.5 (rear). The wheels are wrapped with Pirelli Scorpion Zero rubber 285/35ZR24 (front) 305/35ZR24 (rear). The Pirelli rubber and Niche Invert alloy wheels were mounted and balanced on high-speed computer equipment by Signature Performance Tire.

Under the hood we discovered a factory 5.0L Ti-VCT V-8 Coyote engine enhanced with a Whipple twin-screw 2.9L supercharger with a 3.75-inch pulley producing 10 psi of boost, 650 lbs-ft of torque and 700 hp. The Whipple supercharger was given a brushed Caddy Black tint treatment by Platers Polish and Powder. A cool air box houses the conical, pleated cotton gauze mesh air filter that directs air through the Whipple air intake tube finished in carbon fiber. A pair of Whipple carbon fiber valve covers is also included in the engine kit. The rumble was deepened by installing a Gibson cat-back exhaust that flows into a pair of Gibson Superflow mufflers with Gibson 4-inch-diameter, rolled-edge, black ceramic- coated exhaust tips.

Opening the doors exposes the luxurious Roadwire Leather custom black premium leather front buckets and rear seats with perforated inserts, gray contrast stitching and pure white leather stripes. Interior accents were painted jet black and custom brushed dark tint with 3M film matching on selected parts. A set of SRP Racing billet aluminum clear anodized pedals contributes to a racy look, while a set of Lloyds floor mats protects the factory pile carpeting. To eliminate much of the harmful UV rays, Sundial Window Tinting applied 3M Crystalline window tint to the windshield and color stable on the sides to match the OE color tint. Source AV Design Group installed Focal Audio and Enfortrace GPS systems.

The MAD Industries Ford F-150 was showcased on the massive SEMA Ford mezzanine floor display. It drew a continuous crowd of curious show- goers all week long. ST
