My name is Joe Acevedo Jr., but most people know me as “Ace.” I’m a photographer based out of South Texas, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for cars and trucks. Growing up, I would spend hours at the local newsstand flipping through magazines, always dreaming that one day I’d see my own build featured in those glossy pages. As the years went on, I picked up a simple point-and-shoot camera and started taking photos at local meets. This was before social media was even a thing, so I would share my shots directly with friends and I was instantly hooked. That passion lit a fire in me, and I knew I wanted to one day see my photography in a magazine. That dream became a reality when I landed my very first feature in Street Trucks. From that moment, my journey took off. It’s been the ride of a lifetime traveling across the country, meeting incredible people, and connecting with some of the most talented builders in the automotive world. Every build has its own story, and being able to capture those stories through my lens has always been an honor. Through years of hard work, dedication, and staying true to the culture I love, I eventually became the editor of OBS Builder’s Guide. That’s a huge milestone for me not just personally, but as proof that dreams really can come true. If you’re willing to put in the effort, stay focused, and believe in yourself, anything is possible.
