Grant Cox

Hello, my name is Grant Cox. Since July 2011, I’ve had the privilege of contributing over 400 nationally published photoshoot and tech article features across a variety of automotive magazines. As a Freelance Photographer, my role goes beyond simply taking pictures it’s about networking with editors, collaborating with owners and companies, and creating content that captures the essence of vehicles and products being featured. Over the years, my work has graced more than 80 magazine covers, each one representing the passion and craftsmanship of the automotive community. My approach has always been to balance technical precision with creativity, ensuring that every shoot tells a story. What’s in my camera bag? I shoot exclusively with Nikon equipment. My current setup includes the Nikon Z6 body paired with Nikon’s 24–70mm f/2.8 and 70–200mm f/2.8 lenses versatile tools that allow me to capture everything from wide scenic backdrops to detailed close-ups with clarity and depth. Favorite shoots? Being Kansas-born, I’ve always been drawn to the wide-open landscapes of the West. Some of my most memorable experiences have been shooting on the Vegas dry lakebeds the scenery is unlike anything else, providing a raw and dramatic backdrop that elevates every car I photograph. Photography for me is more than a profession, it’s a way to connect with people, machines, and the stories that bind them together.
