Timeless, A 1953 Chevy 3100 pickup, has stood the test of time. Owner of this beautiful truck is Chad Sherrill. Chad grew up in the greater Charlotte area with a passion for the west coast influence. Always loving the 50’s Chevy bomb look, Chad searched the east coast trying to locate a 53 Chevy the way he wanted it. Chad knew he was going to have to expand his search to California. He came across the perfect 53 Chevy in Salinas California, owned by a guy by the name of Santiago. Chad made a deal for the truck and set up the details to have it shipped back to Charlotte North Carolina. Chad was so in love with a truck that he drove it just the way it was for an entire year.

To start to build up on this “Timeless”, Santiago started with a stock 53 five window Chevy 3100 pick up. He began on the rear by notching frame and adding a four link with 2600 Airlift Dominators, 2-5 gallon air tanks and 2-Viair 444c compressors to fill the tanks. After the rear was finished it was time to move to the front, he pulled the whole front suspension out and replaced it with a Mustang II suspension and steering rack. To control the adjustability Santiago install the 2500 airlift Dominators and added Accuir to control the whole system.

Santiago built a truck with a beautiful straight six engine with a Fenton dual carb intake, Chrome Rodchester carbs, chrome Offenhauser valve covers, Chrome fuel lines, and a chrome starter. Santiago used a 1986 Chevy Camaro T5-5 speed transmission conversion. Chad decided he want to do something different from the standard LS swap. Chad picked up a Cadillac CTS-V super charged LSA that pushes out 600 hp. In order to pull this off they had to swap out gauges, wires, transmission, rear end, brakes, and steering column. The final piece of the puzzle was to install heat and air, add push start ignition.

On the outside of Timeless, Santiago’s wanted to keep it looking factory by re-chroming the front and rear bumper, re-chroming the grill and door handles. The body was smoothed to perfection and painted a beautiful Dove Grey. To finish the exterior a wooden bed was added with the D-rings plus hydraulic hinges to hold up the wooden floor.

On the inside burgundy leather was used to recover the seats and door panels. They painted the dash and all surrounding metal panels to resemble a wood grain.

The finishing touches and tie everything together come in the form of 9 inch rims on the rear and 7 inch rims on the front. They were powder coated burgundy to match the leather interior and a set of white walls tires to finish off the bomb look.

Chad’s dream of having a West Coast bomb style truck has come true and he would like to think Santiago for building the bones of his dream truck. Chad said he would like to also thank his family without them nothing would be possible.
