Texas Town’s Annual Turkey Drag Show Draws Record Crowds and Quadruples Population for the Weekend

Population More Than Quadruples in Texas Town

For the 18th year, Ben Miller and his hardworking team have put together an extremely successful show. Lone Oak, Texas, just an hour from Dallas at Wind Point Park, a 180-acre private RV park and resort, is home to the annual Turkey Drag Car and Truck Show. Lone Oak, which has a recorded population of 598 residents, saw 857 registered vehicles and nearly 2,000 spectators for the busy weekend show. Although the temperatures were in the mid 50s, even the cold weather couldn’t deter the dedicated truck enthusiasts.

JTX Forged is the title sponsor with Exile 4×4 Custom Roof Racks, Da Drop Shop, NTX Audio Innovations, Fab Lab, Campers4Rent.com, Sunday Funday Brand, Recreational Outdoors, Hertz Audio, Locos Gringos Pick-N-Pull, and Branded Customs wrapping up the premium sponsors. Dozens of vendors were on site with merchandise at every turn, including TX Flow Pros LLC, Lone Star Barrels, Dynamic Conceptz, Kutomz Ink Klothing, Jack Fleming Art, Unique Audio Concepts, Big Wash Detail, North Texas Scarface Mix, Full Throttle Texas, Boujee Babes Boutique, and Texas Racing League.

Locos BBQ, Cajun Ben’s Crawfish & Catering, Spurs Griddle, El Antojito, and Round ‘Em Coffee kept everybody’s stomachs filled and fed throughout the weekend. A $1,600 donation of proceeds from Turkey Drag was given to the Lone Oak Police Department for its Blue Santa program. With an abundance of Toyota mini-trucks that entered the show, Street Trucks staff was able to get them together for a group shot. Sunday, promoter Ben Miller and his staff put together a limbo contest to test the lowest vehicles at the show.
