From time to time, we want to give back to those of you who flip through our pages each and every month by showcasing some of your rides. A couple of months ago on Instagram, we asked for submissions for this month’s Readers’ Rides section, and we were blown away at the number of emails we received. This was one of the hardest articles we’ve put together in a while due to the number of submissions from across North America. Notably, there were quite a few trucks from Canada, which suggests the Canadian truck scene is alive and thriving just as much as the American scene.Subscribe to our weekly newsletter Readers’ Rides is not something we regularly publish, but we love to see what you’re working on. Jackson and I own the truck “Da Hangover.” This truck was an anniversary present from my wife for our first wedding anniversary. My full-time job is a middle school administrator, and after work I moonlight as the manager for my childhood friend Donkmaster. Over the years, with the help of Donkmaster and his team, I have finally finished this truck. I enjoy driving it to school to drop my kids off and use as a conversation piece to get the kids at my school to open up and talk to me. Maxwell DeLorm 1950 Chevy Pickup Full Frame-Off Restoration This was my grandfather’s pickup I grew up playing on in the barn. It was his dream, a dream I finished over the past two years when his health declined. I wanted to give him that peace and fulfillment of a newly envisioned 1950s luxury and class made with modern standards, like Carrera Buck diamond stitch interior and Ferrari-inspired “Dino” Rotiform DNO three-piece race wheels wrapped in whitewall track tires by Diamond Back Classic Tires that would make purists on both sides look twice to comprehend the blending of European and American classic standards. Full Airlift Performance air-ride suspension is discretely hidden to maintain a period-correct look when placed upon the pavement. A 5.7L LS with everything Holley has to offer, along with a mean BTR Stage 3 cam. Matte black and crinkle black engine bay keeps an aggressive yet 1950s-looking LS if one existed back then. Headers, X pipe, and dump pipes are behind the cab to piss off my HOA. Jeffery Robanske 1970 Ford F-100 “Project Longbed” Jeffery used the original frame and boxed and C-notched it. The engine used was a 2017 Ford 4.6 (5.0) backed by a 4R70W auto with a Ford 9-inch rearend fitted with Curry Enterprise components. It has an all-custom polished stainless steel exhaust, handmade front to rear, with an Accuair air-ride system with Ridetech bags all around. A lot of custom sheetmetal work has been done to it by hand, including the cover that surrounds the engine seamlessly to the full custom longbed along with the full airplane aluminum three-piece floor that opens to show off the frame, exhaust, aluminum airlines, Accuair system custom batteries, and mounts. Kyle Rimer 1988 Mazda B2200 Bagged and Body-Dropped Kyle’s Mazda B2200 has a full custom interior, wood bed floor, front and back tubs, molded-in tailgate and roll pan, billet wheels, and full patina paintjob with some Cheeto flake in the clearcoat. Darrell Winfield 1971 Chevrolet C10 “Warbird” This truck was built by Redemptive Motorsports out of Cleveland, Georgia. Replacing the original engine is a 5.7-liter LS1 V-8 with a Brian Tooley Racing PDS Stage 1 camshaft, forged rotating assembly, and a Magnuson Radix 1900 supercharger. The LS1 is controlled by a Holley Terminator X ECU and paired to a Bowler T56 Magnum transmission. The truck rides on QA1 suspension, including double adjustable coilovers and sway bar, and utilizes Wilwood 6-piston brakes in the front, 4-piston in the rear. The US Mags Grand Prix wheels match the rest of the accents. The original orange paint was buffed, polished, and ceramic coated to bring it back to life. To accent the newly freshened paint, all trim and accent pieces were cerakoted with Prismatic Powders Burnt Bronze. The interior of this truck features Dakota Digital gauges, a custom push button ignition, and a complete TMI kit, including bolstered bench seat, headliner, dashpad, visors, and door panels, wrapped in a beautiful tobacco leather and accented with black Western-style embossed leather. Chad Doucet 1981 Chevrolet C10 From 2010 to 2017, Chad managed to completely change the stock blue C10 to what it is today. He did a complete color change and frame-off on it using PB Fab parts to get the truck height where it needed to be. It has a raised wooded bed floor that hides the Accuair VU4/ECU/tanks, Viair compressors, dual AGM batteries, and fuel cell. It has Bonspeed Quicksilver wheels (22/24), Dakota Digital gauges, Slosh Tubs, one piece side and rear glass, and 350 SBC/T350. Paint and bodywork was done by Justin Pulyk. The truck hosts a bunch of JL Audio and Mosconi audio equipment for the beats. Victor Trujillo 2000 S-10 Blazer Stock Floor Body Drop Victor’s S-10 is a custom-tailored four-door with front and back bumpers, custom flat blue with green pearl with graphics, and a 40×70 legacy tan ragtop. The interior has billet bombers seats wrapped with dark brown leather as well as the dash. The custom center console holds the billet window switches, billet cup holder, slam controller, and air gauges. It’s all sitting on 20×8.5 and 20×9 Intros wheels. Derek Brechner 1960 Ford F-100 Best-Of Plus This 1960 Ford F-100 is from Phoenix. The body is a combination of the best pieces of six 1957-1960 F-100s. The foundation is a No Limit Engineering R8 Chassis with Ridetech coilovers at all four corners, tubular upper and lower control arms with 4-link in back. It is raised rail, so the body is channeled over the frame 4 inches. Continuing with the suspension, it rides on Wilwood 4-wheel disc all with hard lines. It has a Moser Ford 9-inch with 3:55 gear and power rack-and-pinion. Powerplant is a 401 Buick Nailhead with dual quad Fitech Fuel injection backed up with a Hughes performance 700r4 transmission. It’s cooled by a Champion radiator. American Autowire provided all the wiring along with Dakota Digital gauges, Ididit steering, Vintage Air, and Lokar. Wheels are ET Indy 18/10 and 18/8.5 with NITTO NT555 tires. A lot of custom panel work was done on the firewall, bed floor and interior pieces, along with converting from a small to a big window by Tanner at Rad Fab. Stephen Dorrick 2005 Nissan Frontier Makes Over 1,000hp Stephen’s Frontier sports twin turbo LS, Tick Performance PPG sequential transmission, LOJ custom AWD setup, LOJ built forged 6.0L aluminum engine, Twin Borg Warner 57mm turbos, water-to-air intercooler setup,4-wheel independent suspension, Haltech engine management, Forgeline wheels (20×12 Square), 345/30R20 Michelins Square, 16-inch Wilwood brakes, Competition ABS system, and so much more. The truck won the Optima Ultimate Streetcar Regular Season Truck Class Championship in 2022 and 2023. It also won the truck class at the invitational in 2023, and makes over 1,000hp. Eric Sparks 1998 Nissan Frontier 3D Printed Parts Eric’s build is a 2002 Nissan Xterra frontend conversion, stock floor body-dropped, 17-inch Vision wheels. Originally built by Louie Croce of No regrets, it was at SEMA in the Raise3D booth showcasing some custom designed 3D printed parts. Darrell Reilly 1989 Toyota Pickup Decades of Changes Owned by Darrell since April of 1990, the truck has seen different changes over the years. Two of his favorite additions to the truck were the Superdome convertible top and swapping out the old 3.0 V-6 to newer 3.4 Toyota V-6. Mighty Johnson 1998 Chevrolet Silverado This Silverado features a 3/4 frame, stock floor body-drop to the doors, 2-inch factory glass chop, panoramic sunroof, Billet Thrills GMC grill, 180-degree third door, suicide driver’s door, sectioned front bumper, one-off B.A.D. 24-inch wheels, 16-inch Wildwood brakes all around, Kindigit handles, 502bbc w/871 blower, 2.25-inch stainless headers, CVF serpentine belt kit, custom tube control arms, polished all cantilever link setup, Fox shocks, quick change rearend, Grant Kustoms Cali combo, and wiper cowl. Clifford Rasbury 2022 Ford F-350 Dually Showed at SEMA ’23 This Ford has 10-inch Elevate Mfg. lift, 28×16-inch KG1 Forged Trident wheels, 40×15.50-inch Fury Tires, OEM F-450 front fenders and flares, Fox coilovers, rear shocks, and dual steering stabilizer. It also has Morimoto lighting, Elevate Mfg. front and rear bumpers, True Spike lug nuts, FCK Lightbars lighting, Hornblasters spare tire delete setup, Jamo Performance Exhaust, Amp research STEPS, R1 Concepts slotted and drilled rotors, and a Gen Y hitch. Dez Ferrell 1978 C10 From Nessys Kustoms “It’s my shop truck and was used to teach several classes at my shop on how to work on older vehicles,” Dez said. “I’ve had over 20 women across the country learn to work on it, with 85% being built at my home garage with basic tools. Therefore, she’s not perfect. I teach several classes a year to women on how to paint, restore, weld, and proper tool handling. The truck is a driver and not a trailer queen. I’ve driven her several times to the Texas truck shows and all over locally to the shows here. I have a fantastic list of sponsors for the truck and my shop itself.” Randy Ross 1966 Ford F-100 Old School California Original California truck with original black plates. Coyote 5.0/6r80 from a rear-ended 2016 Mustang GT, boxed frame, tubular X-member from Progressive Automotive, C4 Corvette IFS and IRS with kits from Flat Out Engineering, QA1 coilovers, and more. Argelio Gonzalez Jr 1968 C10 First-Ever Restoration “I did my first ever frame off restoration in my garage and can say I did 85% of the work,” Argelio said. “First ever build and got plenty of help from YouTube and couple books I purchased. I installed all new plumbing, Painless wiring, Vintage Air, Dakota Digital Gauges, Mark K quality body moldings, Hot Rod Innovation grille. I did a bunch of panel replacements and installed many more parts including LS Swap.” Amanda Rose 2000 GMC Sonoma Layin’ Low This Sonoma has front wheel tubs that allow it lay 20s and keep the factory A/C, billet grille, and bumper inserts, MMW control arms powdercoated and painted in purple flake, Street Scene mirrors, Slam Specialties bags on all four corners, Billet specialties steering wheel, and custom made Accuair touchpad mount, painted and pinstriped to match the paint. It also has a Pioneer flip-out head unit, kicker subs, along with a smoked 3rd brake light, color matched with flake purple bedliner, custom made notch cover, clear taillights, custom paint with ghosted roses in the bumper, freehand graphics, and airbrushed bubbles, riding on 20×8 and 20×9.5 US Mags Desperados. Robert Lopez 1997 F-350 Under-the-Hood Goodies Robert’s Ford has a complete Accuair setup, VT tank in the bed with ECU, and is hard-lined. It has a custom console with three 15-inch subs, all-black interior with a few touches of billet aluminum and some Louis Vuitton on the console, dash, doors. Some under-the-hood goodies are hidden as well.
