West Palm Beach, Florida

Ralph Vilonna’s 1953 GMC is a true driver, built in his home garage and finished with mostly original patina—except for the roof. The truck runs a modern L83 engine paired with a 6L80 transmission, blending vintage style with reliable performance. Ralph regularly puts miles on the truck, driving it to events like Southeastern Truck Nationals, where it earned a best-of award, and even making the trip to C10 Revival in North Carolina four different times.

Visalia, California

Robert Rodriguez’s 2021 Silverado RST is a clean modern build featuring Phat Phabz front and rear suspension components powdercoated in candy teal and paired with Slam Specialties air bags and a square tank setup. The truck sits low on 26×9 and 26×12 Raceline wheels, with bead-rolled details throughout, including the fuel cell, tubs, splash guards, and engine bay. Custom touches continue with hood graphics, a shaved rear bumper, and a distressed interior finished with German square weave, a custom console, and a sub enclosure. Robert represents the Relaxed Atmosphere truck club.

Alex Mejia’s 1967 Chevy C10 was built completely from the ground up in his shop after an idea for a classic custom truck took hold back in 2020. After countless hours of trial, error, and problem-solving, the truck came together with a clean silver two-tone paint job accented by red pinstripes that carry through the interior and aluminum bed floor. Power comes from a 6.0L LQ4 LS topped with a Magnuson supercharger and backed by a 4L80-E transmission. For Alex and his crew, the truck represents the long hours of wrench time and the pride that comes from a build that was truly built—not bought.

Evington, Virginia

Garland D. Kinslow’s 1984 Chevrolet Suburban blends classic squarebody style with modern suspension and custom touches throughout. The truck rides on a Porterbuilt front and rear suspension with a stock-floor body drop, Air Lift 2600 front bags, Firestone F9000 rear bags, Belltech 3-inch spindles, and AccuAir e-Level+ management fed by a 5-gallon Endo-VT tank and dual Viair 444C compressors. Bonspeed Palisade wheels—22×8.5 up front and 24×10 out back—fill the wells perfectly. Power comes from a Chevy 350 built with Summit Racing cam components, ProMaxx aluminum heads, an Edelbrock intake and carb, and a 700R4 transmission, sending power through a narrowed rear axle with 3.73 gears and limited slip. Inside, the Suburban features an original Choo Choo Customs wood console, reupholstered seats, ACC carpet, Vintage Air A/C, and an upgraded audio system powered by a RetroSound receiver and MB Quart and Skar components that round out a well-balanced custom that’s built to cruise in style.

Jim Hrabe’s 1991 GMC Syclone keeps the legendary turbo V6 platform alive while adding a custom stance with a bagged suspension setup that lets the truck sit low over a set of 20-inch wheels. The result is a clean mix of factory performance heritage and modern custom truck style.

Linesville, Pennsylvania

Richard H. Link Jr.’s 1953 Willys Overland is the realization of a high school dream brought to life years later. The classic truck runs a Chevy 350 paired with a Borg-Warner Super T10 transmission and a Ford 9-inch rear end. Suspension upgrades include S10 rear springs and a Mustang II front suspension, giving the vintage Willys a solid mix of old-school style and modern drivability.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Rolla Manning’s 1958 GMC is built to be driven, not just parked. The truck rides on a GSI chassis and is powered by an LS1, giving it the performance to match its clean vintage style. Rolla regularly road trips the truck to events and even takes it down the dragstrip, proving this classic GMC was built to run just as much as it was built to show.

Josh Johnson
Johnson City, Tennessee

Josh Johnson’s 1991 Mazda B2600i, known as Maznuf, is a 90s-inspired mini-truck build with a touch of modern style. The paint scheme takes its cue from the local Tri-Cities Beverage drink Dr. Enuf, giving the truck its green-and-red theme that carries into the tweed interior. The truck rides on HRBB Turbine billet wheels with a four-link bag-over-axle setup, a tilt bed with a custom bridge, and Slam Specialties air management controlled by an MC.2 billet controller. Custom touches include a shaved tailgate with a frenched tag, a shaved fuel door and wiper cowl, molded factory flares, and a raised bed floor. Powered by the original 2.6L G6 engine with an Australian Wildcat header and 2-inch exhaust, this truck has been a 10-year project for Josh and serves as a full driver that he daily drives and shows.

Paizley Atkinson
Ashland City, Tennessee

Paizley Atkinson’s truck, known as Sweetpea, is a classic custom build that originally came out of Texas and was later purchased from Maple Motors. Paizley and her family have been taking the truck to shows since 2022, enjoying time together in the custom truck scene. With plenty of modifications already on the truck, the plan is to give Sweetpea a full refresh in the next couple of years as they continue working to make their mark in the community.

Harlan Kemper
North Branch, Minnesota

Harlan Kemper’s 1973 Chevy C20 is a long-time keeper, having been in his hands since 1982. Powered by a strong 454 and equipped with dual fuel tanks, the truck keeps much of its classic character with a clean, mostly stock interior and Dakota Digital gauges fitted into the factory bezel. Harlan also handled the paintwork himself, and since these photos were taken, the underside of the truck has been freshly painted as well.

Tulsa, Oklahoma

Justin Wallace’s 1998 Chevy C1500 keeps its original factory paint while adding a clean mix of custom upgrades. The truck rides on a full RideTech air suspension system front and rear and sits just right on Budnik billet wheels wrapped in Nitto tires. A two-tone leather interior with LG billet accents adds a custom touch, while exterior details like a shaved wiper cowl, a detailed engine bay, a BedRug, and a SnugTop cover round out this well-kept OBS build.

Mike Goins
Friendsville, Tennessee

Mike Goins’ 1966 Ford F-100 blends family history with modern performance. Originally purchased new by his grandfather, the truck still wears its original patina paint while packing a Gen 2 Coyote engine backed by a 6R80 transmission. The chassis features Mustang II suspension with coilovers, tubular control arms, power steering, power brakes, and a flip kit. The long bed was converted to a short bed, the interior sports TMI bucket seats, and the truck rolls on classic E-T 5-window wheels.

Post Falls, Idaho

Dustin Lyons’ 1972 Ford Courier keeps the classic mini-truck vibe alive with a lowered stance over billet wheels and a matching billet steering wheel. The truck runs a mildly cammed 1.8L engine paired with a 5-speed swap, along with a Checkmate bed cover sourced from a Mazda B2200. Dustin is currently working toward adding air suspension, followed by bodywork and a repaint in the factory mint green, while the interior already features tweed door panels and kick panels to match the era-inspired style.

Rolando Moore
Stafford, Virginia

Rolando Moore’s 1989 Chevy C1500 is the truck he always wished he could have built back in high school. The build blends classic ’90s sport truck styling with mini-truck-inspired graphics, creating a look that feels both nostalgic and fresh. The paint was handled by Jody Davis at Gunpoint Graphics in South Carolina, and the truck rides on a staggered 20/22 set of U.S. Mags Mafioso wheels that were custom painted to match the theme.
