e something to look forward to in 2019.

While the current iteration of the Ford F-150 comes with either a V8 or EcoBoost V6, next year’s version will have a serious power bump. The Limited edition trim of the 2019 F-150 will pack the same High Output EcoBoost engine used on the Ford Raptor.

The 3.5L V6 puts out 450hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, a considerable step up from the regular 375hp EcoBoost V6 engines used on non-Raptor trucks. For 2019, the High Output mill will be paired to a 10-speed AT for both the F-150 Limited and Raptor.

If that’s too much to handle, the F-150 will also be available in five flavors: the naturally aspirated 3.3L base engine, 3.0L Power Stroke diesel, the 2.7L EcoBoost as well as the standard 3.5L EcoBoost mill, and of course the venerable 5.0L V8 that’s always been a mainstay of Ford trucks.

However, the Raptor-derived V5 is clearly the star of the show. The extra power bump beats the Ram 1500’s 395hp Hemi and edges out the Chevrolet Silverado’s 420hp V8, giving the F-150 the bragging rights as the most powerful half-ton pickup among the Big Three.

Now for the bad news: the 2019 F-150 Limited Trim will start at $61,000, ten grand more than the Raptor. So start saving those pennies.
