ICON 4×4, based in Chatsworth, California, is known for building Broncos, FJs, CJs and other vehicles from the ground up. Rather than strictly producing restorations, the company builds brand-new vehicles complete with new bodies and modern drivetrains. One of its latest creations takes things a step further: a brand-new truck with all of the modern features one would expect to see on a dealership option sheet but under the cloak of a classic Chevy pickup. Dubbed the ICON Thriftmaster, the new truck from the ground up is inspired by the 1947-53 Chevy 3100 five-window classic pickup, this modern iteration is ready for adventure.

Think of this truck as a prototype of what customers can order from ICON. The first Ultimate Edition ICON Thriftmaster comes in choice of body color in either matte or gloss finish, with choice of manual or automatic transmission, naturally aspirated or with an intercooled supercharger. Otherwise, it comes one way, loaded.

The look is classic vintage truck with a blend of modern street rod. The drive is pure modern sports car, thanks to an Art Morrison chassis, coil-overs and a Magnuson supercharged 5.3L eRod engine fresh from Chevrolet Performance. Rounding out the performance package is a luxury interior complete with state-of-the-art ISIS wiring, Audison stereo equipment and all of the modern amenities we’ve come to expect in late-model vehicles. A WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, navigation and LED lighting make the truck a hot rod office on the go. American bison leather and Rolls Royce Wilton wool carpeting are the touches that bring it to the top level of luxury automobiles in truck armor.
