The “Largest C-10 Gathering in the South” gets even bigger

C-10s in the Park (CITP) was back in 2018, returning to the beautiful Getzendaner Park in historic Waxahachie, Texas. Terry Hill and his crew were once again on hand to host one of the largest all Chevy C-10 gatherings in the country, and the numbers grew in 2018. With continued support from Brothers Trucks Parts and with the addition of the first annual C-10 Triple Crown event for 2018, the “Largest C-10 Gathering in the South” is on track to turn Waxahachie into the C-10 capital of the world.

The weekend kicked off with the Friday night cruise-in at the local Hobby Lobby. Hosted by Hill’s Hot Rods, the cruise-in has become a big part of the event and has nearly doubled in size from previous years. This very laid-back pre-event gathering provided a small glimpse into what was in store for Saturday.

The next morning, the staff efficiently moved the 850 registered trucks into the park and the event was underway. Getzendaner Park provided ample space and plenty of trees for shade from the Texas sun— ideal for any event taking place in the heat of September. With many of the industry’s top C-10 related manufacturers on hand at CITP, those looking to purchase new parts for their project or custom C-10 related apparel had the ultimate enthusiast shopping experience. Attendees could also find many of the top builders showcasing their products and latest builds. Food and drink vendors were also on hand providing everything from pizza to jambalaya.

Something new for 2018 was the addition of the Brothers First Annual Triple Crown, giving willing participants the opportunity to win swag and compete for prizes at the end of the three-event circuit. The Triple Crown began with the 20th annual Brothers Chevy/GMC Show & Shine in Southern California, followed by C-10s in the Park. It wraps up at Dino’s Chevy Only Gitdown in Phoenix on November 16.

Late into the afternoon, everyone made the short drive to downtown Waxahachie to attend the “Party on the Square” after-party. While no awards were given at CITP, American Racing wheels choose its own top-50 rides, and those chosen were invited to attend the after-party with V.I.P. parking in front of the main stage. To wrap up the weekend, country music act Jason Cassidy performed into the night and another CITP was in in the books.

If you are looking to attend one of the top C-10 events in the country, be sure to add this one to your schedule for next year. Registration opens January 1, 2019; details can be found in the information box below.

Terry Hill would like to thank Brothers, Pedro Garcia, Ruben Salazar and Hector Badillo for all of their help, and the City of Waxahachie for their support.

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COLOR ON THIS C-10 K5 BLAZER.

THIS K5 BLAZER IS IN AMAZING CONDITION AND HAS BEEN EXTREMELY WELL MAINTAINED BY THE OWNER.

We don’t generally dig yellow trucks, but this standard-cab short-bed C-10 looks like a screamer with the paint selection.
