TRANS-DAPT V-8 SBC S10 SWAP-IN-A-BOX

Figuring out how to stuff a big engine into a small vehicle is the essence of hot-rodding. But who says hot-rodding should be limited to cars? Though the pint-sized Chevy S10 pickup never came with a V-8 option, Trans-Dapt has made the task of swapping in a 1955-79 small-block Chevy a much simpler task with its V-8 Into S10 engine Swap-in-a-Box kits.

Trans-Dapt’s new kit makes swapping a small-block Chevy into your 1982-2004 2WD or 4WD S10/S15 a piece of cake. Pooling the resources of the Hedman Performance Group, these kits come with everything needed to perform a complete engine swap. From Hedman Hedders, a set of 1 ½-inch shorty headers are designed to ensure proper clearance in the S10’s engine bay while maximizing exhaust flow for increased power and efficiency. Trans-Dapt motormounts and pads are also included in the kit, and were developed alongside the headers toensure proper fitment. Finally, from Hamburger’s Performance, a new 7-quart, high- performance oil pan with pickup was designed to clear the S10’s front cross member. The pan’s integrated crankshaft scraper, windage tray and trap door baffles ensure the new engine receives a steady flow of engine oil, even under harsh competition conditions.

Two-wheel-drive S10/V-8 Swap-in-a-Box kits are available for first generation Chevy small-blocks with factory, angle plug or D-port heads; while 4WD kits are available for factory heads only. Each Swap-in-a-Box kit offers you the option of Hedman’s standard-duty uncoated, standard-duty ceramic coated or Elite heavy- duty headers. The headers in these kits have an integrated ball-and-socket flange on the collector to provide a durable, gasket-free seal. All mounting hardware, gaskets and installation instructions are included with each kit.
