SOLOMON LUNGER
Each year, classic Ford truck enthusiasts from across the West flock to Canyon RV Park in Anaheim Hills, California, for one of the most cherished events in the community: the F-100 Western Nationals. Hosted by the legendary Pickups Limited truck club of Orange County, this show has become a staple in the scene, and 2025 marked the biggest turnout we’ve seen since I began attending.
With towering trees offering welcoming shade, a breeze drifting in off the Santa Ana River, and rows upon rows of beautiful Ford trucks, it was the kind of day that reminds you why we love these rigs in the first place.

There’s something special about the venue itself. Nestled inside Canyon RV Park, this show blends the feel of a peaceful campground retreat with the buzz of a full-blown truck show. Unlike asphalt parking lot events that can leave you cooking in the sun, the tall sycamores and oaks in Anaheim Hills kept the vibes cool—literally and figuratively.
Laid out across grassy knolls and shaded lanes, the show field was packed with hundreds of classic F-100s, slick bumpsides, dentsides, big bodies, and a growing number of Broncos—a reflection of just how diverse and inclusive this community has become.

This year’s turnout was massive—the biggest we’ve personally witnessed at the Western Nationals—and it was clear the word is spreading. People came from all over California, Nevada, Arizona, and even further to soak up the atmosphere, talk shop, and showcase their rides.
What makes the F-100 Western Nationals so special isn’t just the trucks (though, let’s be honest, they were spectacular). It’s the sense of community. Pickups Limited has been cultivating this scene for decades, and their passion is evident in every detail—from the smooth registration to the family-friendly environment and flawless organization.

Walking the grounds was like taking a tour through Ford truck history. There were frame-off restorations, bagged customs, barn finds with perfect patina, and even a few late-model Ford builds that had us stopping in our tracks.
But more than the builds themselves, it was the owners who made the day shine. Everyone was eager to talk trucks, trade tips, and celebrate the hard work that goes into keeping these machines on the road.

The F-100 Western Nationals isn’t flashy or overly commercial, and that’s the beauty of it. It’s grassroots. It’s nostalgic. It’s authentic.
Whether you came to show your truck, shop the swap meet, or just hang out with like-minded folks under the trees, this year’s event delivered in every way. For those of us who return year after year, it felt like home. And for the newcomers, it was clear: this is where the West’s Ford truck heart beats loudest.
