BEHIND THE SCENES AT SIKNIC 2019!

The Sickest Show In The South

There’s no better place for Louisiana natives, as well as car and truck enthusiasts from surrounding areas, to celebrate the end of summer than at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in the city of Gonzales for the annual Siknic event. This year marked the 11th anniversary of the event—that’s nearly a dozen years’ worth of raging good times. And at the rate the show is going (and growing), this is just the beginning.

Siknic has yet to disappoint, given that its home base just happens to be conveniently situated in one of the country’s hot spots for killer customs of all kinds. It’s close enough to attract vehicles from Texas, as well as from states throughout the South and Midwest.

This year, the show was held on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 25-26, with an official pre-party that kicked off on Friday, Aug. 24. Sometimes, there’s nothing more enjoyable than spending an entire weekend at a show dedicated to hanging out with friends and family in a unique setting specially created for gear heads.

Siknic’s 2018 installment saw just over 650 registered show vehicles in attendance, which was an impressive mixture of customized cars and trucks spread across the expo’s outdoor and indoor areas. For those who like their tunes loud, a USACi-sanctioned stereo competition allowed audiophiles to put their sound system to the test by battling it out against others to settle once and for all who had the loudest system in the crowd. The latest head count of show-goers amounted to just over 4,000 visitors throughout the weekend. That’s a lot of people. With numbers like that, it’s safe to say that this event shows all the potential to last another 11 years and then some.

Show promoter Greg Miller has been be at this for a long time, and he knows what the people want. Plus, he has a great team that works tirelessly at creating the best shows possible for all to enjoy.

“Thank you to our title sponsor, Sparkles Detail, as well as co-sponsors Kingpin Autosports, Bryan Chevrolet, Vincent Designs, Modified, Street Kings, CSC Customs, as well as our staff, friends and family for helping us deliver another great event,” Miller said. “A very heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who came out for the weekend. You all are what make this show a great success.”

Circle Aug. 24 and 25 on your 2019 calendars now, because you won’t want to miss out on Siknic’s 12th anniversary event, which is guaranteed to be the best one yet—just you wait and see!
