The beginning of May in Southern California means a couple of things: Cinco de Mayo festivities and the Relaxin’ in So Cal show thrown by Relaxed Atmosphere. One of the goals of the show has always been value, keeping entry costs low and fun high. Custom-made tro- phies, cheap tacos and a huge raffle accomplish this. As a result, the show held each May at Alpine Electronics in Torrance, California, has been bursting at the seams. What began as a small event has grown to host more than 500 custom vehicles of all types, as well as thousands of spectators. Club members from Relaxed Atmosphere come from all over the country and the world to help out at the event held to benefit charity and have some fun.
The custom awards from Recognition Concepts and Sadistic Iron Works included calavera-style skulls and custom artwork. The Best Full-size.
Truck went to Matt Salmon’s clean C/K, Best Mini was handed to Patrick Rios’ gold Hardbody, and Keith Hathaway took home Street Trucks’ Choice. A few custom awards were presented, including Japan’s Choice, which was a custom-painted samurai sword and ///RA club choice went to Kenny’s candy red Tacoma.
