Our annual Orange Beach Invasion trip once again proved why it has become one of the most anticipated truck and car events in the country. This show transforms the laid-back Gulf Coast into a full-blown celebration of custom automotive culture. Held at The Wharf in Orange Beach, the multi-day show blends spring break energy with some of the cleanest, loudest, and most creative builds in the classic truck scene.
Rows upon rows of meticulously built trucks, slammed classics, and killer lifted customs lined the streets and parking areas, ready for a weekend of fun. The event consistently draws hundreds of registered builds and tens of thousands of spectators, with recent years seeing attendance push past 15,000 enthusiasts.

What sets Orange Beach Invasion apart isn’t just the quantity of vehicles—it’s the quality. Entry is selective, creating a curated lineup of top-tier builds from across the US and even Canada. Whether it’s fully shaved engine bays, intricate air suspension setups, or interiors that rival luxury showrooms, every truck feels like it’s competing for a magazine cover. Plus, the setting is amazing—sunset photos and night shots are a photographer’s dream. Judges have their work cut out for them, handing out awards in categories ranging from best paint and engine to best interior and overall build.
Beyond the trucks themselves, the atmosphere truly defines this show. The Wharf’s coastal backdrop adds a unique vibe while palm trees, ocean air, and spring break crowds mix with the rumble of cammed V8s and the hiss of air ride systems. Vendors line the venue with aftermarket parts, apparel, and accessories, while food stands and nearby restaurants keep the energy up throughout the weekend.

The community aspect is just as strong as the competition. Builders travel long distances not just to show off their work but to connect, learn, and inspire each other. It’s common to see strangers become friends over shared builds, with veterans offering advice to newcomers and helping hands appearing if something breaks or goes wrong. That sense of camaraderie has become a defining trait of the event, reinforcing that it truly is all about the people, not just the trucks.
As the sun sets and the crowds thin, the impact of Orange Beach Invasion becomes clear. It’s more than just a truck show; it’s a full-scale cultural event that merges automotive passion with a destination experience. Year after year, OBI continues to grow, evolve, and raise the bar, solidifying its reputation as a must-attend event for anyone serious about custom classic trucks.
