Ford F-250 1970 Crew Cab Puller
“For the most part, I just wanted the truck to look relatively stock with a few custom touches peppered here and there,” Mark Leonard admits. “I was worried about the two layers of paint on top of the original coat, however. The last paint job was white, which is typically used to hide Bondo. The guy I bought it from said that it was one of the nicest ‘rust free’ crew cabs that he has ever seen, so I put my faith in him and hoped I wouldn’t regret the purchase later down the line.” Check out how this straightforward yet killer F-250 turned out!
What exactly does “overland” mean? Well, the activity combines off-roading and camping by placing the truck (or any other type of desired vehicle) at the center of the adventure. While this method of enjoying time outdoors isn’t a new thing, it is currently a popular thing—and for good reason. Instead of having to make a reservation at an existing campsite somewhere, the truck becomes its own campsite, which promotes exciting, open-ended journeys into regions beyond. See how Hemmings Motor News paired an OBS F-Series truck with true overland capabilities in what the team dubbed “Project Artemis.”

When considering a lowering kit for your 1988-1998 C1500 or (OBS GM Truck), you’ll find there are quite a few options out there. Most companies offer parts individually, so you can get creative with parts combinations in order to get your desired results. In our case, we wanted to try and get this job done with performance and ultimate ride quality in mind. Being that Belltech Suspension was a huge part of the sport truck movement back in the ’90s, the company knows a thing or two about OBS GM trucks. With that said, naturally Belltech was our first call when we decided to tackle the suspension on our 1990 C1500.
Combining newly released height-adjustable front coilovers with time-tested lowering components, Belltech has released products that equal optimum sport truck handling, all in one convenient package. Belltech also created a roll center correction bracket that keeps the axle centered under the vehicle to maintain proper suspension geometry. Get your gear fix here!
