Up next Word on the Street | The Latest News, Rumors and Changes in the Truck World Published on February 24, 2022 Author Chris Hamilton Share article Facebook 0 Twitter 0 Mail 0 LETTER FROM THE EDITOR After traveling around the country and attending events geared toward all styles of custom vehicles, it’s hard to sound unbiased when saying that the C10 truck community is very clearly the strongest and most bonded group of passionate pickup owners anywhere in the world. No other industry has a gathering of like-minded individuals as strong as ours. Not even the Jeep guys have vehicle-specific events that sell out in every state, nearly every month. The players on our team have a love for every part of the game, including those styles and trends that are not particularly popular in the mainstream. Lifted, lowered, small block or LS, we love them all and we support the projects that our fellow C10 community members are currently working on. We don’t put down other players if we don’t like the way they’re playing the game. We invite them in, help with their ideas and stand strong together at events all around the country. You won’t see that in any other specific vehicle group. Now that we’ve pointed it out, you’ll probably start to notice.Subscribe to our weekly newsletter I am personally part of the C10 Club of Florida and have my third truck on the cutting room floor. The route I am headed on this ’79 squarebody is not what most builders tend to do, but I’ve received nothing from support from the C10 community … and nothing but funny looks from everyone else. The concept of a lifted 2WD squarebody truck doesn’t make sense to some, but when you see me ripping around the streets in a coilover-sprung, LS-powered classic truck on 33-inch tires, you’ll understand the method to my madness. Some build them for show, some build them to go, I’m building this one for fun and reliability. No off-roading, no towing, and you’ll never see it being pulled on a trailer into a truck show. This will be a daily driver, a reliable ripper and an all-around fun time behind the wheel. But enough about me. Start flipping the pages and reading our editorials on some of the smoothest C10s on the road. We give you tips on upgrades to your C10, the latest and greatest parts for our Bow Ties, event coverage from all over America and a few lifestyle pieces to keep you up to date with our community. It’s another great issue, and based on our sales, our readership is stronger than ever. As always, thanks for the support, and we hope to see you at the next C10 event in your town!
