Living the Life and Printing the Passion

Since diversity has been such a hot topic over the last few years, the crew here at Street Trucks has decided to join the movement by making some changes to our editorial process. In the past, we generally went to our favorite events year over year and shot trucks that attended. What we have noticed, though, is that there are tons of other great custom truck events popping up around the country that are packed with magazine-worthy feature trucks. So why are we not recognizing those great truck events as well? Well, that’s about to change!

One of the problems with attending the same events every year is that you run into the same crowd every year, and you’re checking out the same trucks. Additionally, the crowd that used to be excited to see a major publication like Street Trucks show up to their local event turns into a crowd that’s accustomed to it, and we no longer excite them. Repeating events like this definitely creates meaningful, lifelong friendships that you reignite with every trip, sprinkled in with a few jealous people that are completely obsessed with finding your flaws. It’s a disorder that can only be understood by studying infographics or squashing a house insect with no shoes. So, we are hitting the road to find new events and trucks that are not stock! While we’re there, we have no interest in talking about modified rides with fake “builders.” We just want to talk to the real enthusiasts who actually turn their wrenches and cruise their customs. Is that you?
