Sunny South Florida Had Other Plans

For being a part of our country that’s known nationwide as “The Sunshine State,” Florida sure does rain a lot. Sometimes with little to no warning, what was originally forecasted to be a bright and sunny day can quickly turn into a wet and cloudy afternoon.

This consistently inconsistent climate can wreak havoc on many outdoor events and festivals around the state. Unfortunately on this particular weekend, Mother Nature decided to unload a few tons of recycled ocean water right onto the trucks and spectators at the 2018 Extreme Truck Jam in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Home to a professional top fuel quarter-mile race strip as well as a drifting course and sport bike track, Palm Beach International Raceway (formally Moroso Motorsport Park) was the ideal place for Xtreme Performance to hold its yearly truck event. Luckily, it has a pretty solid following of custom truck owners and builders who aren’t afraid to sling some water on the way to the show.

East coast events like these are just further proof that custom truck enthusiasts cover each corner of this incredible country. As each and every truck pulled through the gates, they were categorized into around 26 classes for judging trucks in the show and shine. The drag racers were lined up for the face off, and the trucks for the SPL sound-off were registered and prepped. Like most events in our industry, a bikini contest filled this time between events and the burnout contest was impressive to say the least. From lifted and powder-coated Powerstrokes to black and teal bagged C-10s, this show brought it all.

Hopefully next year the rain stays away but we know we surely won’t. See you guys out there! ST
