Rob Green’s Laid-Out 1999 GMC Yukon

ROB Green from Rochester, New York, is a regular working guy who decided to take his 1999 GMC Yukon and turn it into something special. He spent three solid years on this build, and the end result is a clean OBS-style SUV that lays body and gets plenty of looks at shows.

The biggest change is the chassis work. Prrdiem Fab handled the body drop, rear tubs, and floor pan, while Hart Fab did the front tubs. They also deleted the third brake light and roof rack to clean it up. The truck now sits on Air Lift bags front and rear, an Accuair management system, DC Fab front control arms, and a Phat Phabz rear setup. It lays frame nice and easy on U.S. Mags wheels wrapped in 275/30ZR24 Lionhart tires.

Rob kept the outside mostly stock blue, which still looks sharp after all these years. Under the hood is the original motor, and the drivetrain is still stock too. He focused on making the truck sit right and drive well instead of chasing big power.

Rob’s Yukon is a great example of taking something you already own and improving it without going overboard.

Inside, Carl’s Auto Seats recovered the buckets with Katzkin gray leather covers with the headrests deleted for a cleaner look. A Billet Specialties steering wheel sits up front, and the stereo is a Sony system with a full audio setup. The Accuair controller is hidden so everything stays simple and clean.

It’s not crazy wild, but it lays out, rides smooth, and still feels like a truck you can actually use. That’s the kind of build a lot of us can relate to.

It’s always cool to see a regular guy turn a daily into a show truck that still gets driven.
