Midlife Truck Crisis or Golden Era Revival?

Info From an Industry Insider

This week I had a random thought. Are we as Generation X (born 1965-1980) and/or early Generation Y (born 1981-1996) hitting a midlife truck crisis? At Lone Star Throwdown 2025, one of my favorite trucks in attendance was a super clean 1988-1998 OBS C1500, which was black and peach. Oh yeah—it also had really radical paintwork! In my eyes, a midlife truck crisis is not a bad thing. On Our Lifestyle Podcast (OLP) we often talk about the epic times of the 1980s and 1990s. My thought is we have reached an age where we know what we want.

Our wants include tapping into our amazing recollection of the era when we first jumped into the truck scene. Static dropped trucks, timeless paint jobs, and billet for days—including wheels, and dare I say a BMX/freestyle bike and/or skateboard in the bed—are all the rage at events nationwide. If you have ever wondered why this style of truck continues to pop up all over the country, well now you know. The 80s and 90s were truly amazing. Until next month, keep pushing forward on your projects and don’t forget to check out OLP via scanning the QR code for more truck-inspired content.

Stay On Da Rise!

Peace, Jason ODB
