Kicking Off the 2025 Show Season

I have been attending classic car shows with my dad for as long as I can remember. My family and I moved to Arizona in 2013, and it wasn’t long after that when I attended my first Goodguys event. In 2018 we drove about an hour and a half in a 1965 Lincoln Continental before the engine blew. We missed the first day of Goodguys due to getting towed, but that didn’t stop us from returning. Instead, we ended up driving a 1974 F250 Crew Cab, now known as “Marilyn”, to the show the next day. At that point in my life, it was the largest show I had ever attended. I was completely unprepared for the overwhelming display of beautifully built cars and trucks, especially the Ford trucks. Since then, I’ve attended the Goodguys show in Scottsdale several times and look forward to it every spring. This year, I had the opportunity to fully immerse myself in the show and gather as much information as I could for this story.

The Goodguys Spring Nationals in Scottsdale is one of the premier automotive events, attracting car enthusiasts from all over the country. What makes this show so special is the vibrant, welcoming community of people who share a deep passion for classic cars, creating an atmosphere of friendships and excitement. The show offers an incredible variety of beautifully restored and custom built vehicles, but what stands out the most to me are the stunning Ford trucks. From vintage F-Series to modern builds, these trucks showcase exceptional craftsmanship and timeless design. The dedication and love that the owners pour into these vehicles is evident in every detail, making it a true celebration of automotive history. The show’s energy is infectious, with families and car lovers of all ages coming together to admire the beauty of these vehicles all while creating lasting connections within the Arizona car and truck community.

There were multiple top-level, expertly built trucks on display—each with its own unique style and attention to detail, showcasing the impressive craftsmanship of their proud owners. Among the standouts were a few remarkable Crew Cabs, which are always a crowd favorite for their rare and rugged appeal. These trucks highlighted both vintage charm and modern customization, drawing admiration from every corner of the show. One of the most thrilling moments was watching a handful of these Ford trucks take on the timed track, proving not just their beauty, but their performance capabilities as well. Seeing these classic machines blazing down the track with power and precision added an exciting dynamic to the event. It was clear that the passion for these Ford trucks ran deep—both on and off the track.

The air was vibrant and filled with excitement inside the tent at the Goodguys show as well. While there were a few vehicles on display, the focus was primarily on showcasing small businesses, shop accessories, and unique decorations that any classic car lover would appreciate. It was the perfect spot to find rare tools, memorabilia, and one of a kind items to spruce up any garage or collection. As always, the food trucks were a highlight of the event offering a delicious variety of meals that never disappoint. The swap meet was another standout feature, sprawling with what seemed to be an endless row of car parts, accessories, and collectibles. It was a treasure trove for anyone looking to score great deals or find that elusive part for their project.
